About the Artist
(American, borne France, 1855-1911)
Paul de Longpre was born in France in 1855 and came to the United States in 1890. By 1896 he held his first New York exhibition composed entirely of floral paintings. Due to his careful observation of all stages and varieties of flowers, he became a floriculturist as well as an artist.
