Charles Grene Ellicombe
(English, 1783-1871)
General Sir Charles Grene Ellicombe was an English Royal Engineer and Knight Commander of the Order of the Bath. He served in the Peninsular War, participating in at least five major battles. He is not otherwise known as a painter, but there are several known watercolors by him: mostly documents of locations where he was serving such as Fort Ecluse, Geneva in the collection of the British Museum.
