Helen Moseley was born in 1883 in Grand Rapids Michigan and studied at the Art Institute of Chicago with Hugh Breckenridge, Robert Henri, and the landscape and genre painter John Christen Johansen. She regularly exhibited with the National Association of Women Painters and Sculptors, the North Shore Arts Association in Gloucester, Massachusetts, as well as the Scarab Club in Detroit, Michigan. She died in 1928 in Boston and bequeathed her estate to the Grand Rapids Art Association.
