The Schwarz Gallery is pleased to have placed an important early work by Raphaelle Peale in the collection of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art
in Fort Worth Texas.
Painted in 1813, Peaches and Grapes in A Chinese Export Basket
is among of the earliest surviving works by Raphaelle Peale, perhaps the the most influential American still-life specialist of the nineteenth century. The painting is on view now at the Museum.
