Nina F. Martino
(American, born 1952)
Sleuth Slope
Oil on masonite, 16 × 24 inches

RS 6198

Nina F. Martino is a contemporary artist from Montgomery County Pennsylvania. She was born into an extensive family of artists, including her father and mother, who were among her first art teachers and who influenced her sisters and her to pursue the art of painting. Martino began pursuing her artistic career at the age of 10 by attending Moore Institute of Art. She went on to study fine art at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and later studied abroad in Italy and Mexico.

Nina Martino's paintings tend to be representational with her main focus on surrounding Philadelphia scenes, creating calm, simplified visions of her native state. Her process entails first making small studies of the area on site, which she then later translates into larger oil on canvas paintings in her studio.

Nina Martino has received numerous awards, international mural and oil painting commissions, and is included in many museums and private collections.
