Biography: Flora MacDonald Reid was born in London of Scottish parents. She studied painting with her brother, John Robertson Reid (1851-1926) and at the Edinburgh School of Art. She traveled extensively in northern Europe and exhibited at the Glasgow Institute (1879-1938), the Royal Academy, the Royal Scottish Academy, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Society of British Artists, the Walker Gallery in Liverpool, and the Exposition Universelle in Paris, where she won a gold medal in 1900.
