Roger Duval was born in Paris in 1901. He was most well known for his 21-year exhibition history at the Salon d’Automne, an annual art exhibition held in Paris. Duval first exhibited there in 1920 when it was held at the Grand Palais des Champs-Élysées. Duval was invited to exhibit in three mediums; painting, sculpture, and illustration. Duval received critical acclaim from Le Littoral, a literary and political journal in France. In an issue dating January 4, 1920, Le Littoral described Duval as having artistic success and predicted a bright future for his career.
